To all adopters of Ruf Creek Ranch Residents,
The 10 Canine Commandments were sent to me by a dear friend, who must wrestle daily with performing her job as a shelter manager in a high kill shelter in South Carolina and her genuine love of all dogs and passion for rescue. When we first read them, they reaffirmed our commitment to do the best we can, by saving as many lives as possible.
When you adopt one of our Ranch Residents, you are not only giving a formerly homeless pup a new life and a new beginning, but you are also helping one more pup escape the shelter and possible euthanasia. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us do what we love to do.

10 Canine Commandments:
1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Remember that before you buy me. I need someone who can commit to me for my whole life.
2. Give me time to understand what you want from me.
3. Place your trust in me. It's crucial to my well-being.
4. Don't be angry with me for long, I only have you.
5. Talk to me sometimes. Even if I don't understand words, I understand you are talking to me.
6. Be aware that I will never forget how you treat me.
7. Before you hit me, remember I have teeth but I choose not to bite you.
8. Before scolding me for bad behavior, ask yourself if something might be bothering me.
9. Take care of me when I grow old. You too will grow old.
10. Go with me on that difficult last journey. This too will be easier with you at my side.
REMEMBER THAT I LOVE YOU.
ONE OF OUR FAVORITE QUOTES:
You can't change the world by helping a single dog, but you can change the world for that single dog !
